Two to the fifth, come and gone.

Some weekends are the sort that pass by slowly (be they rare in Hong Kong), but this one certainly wasn't! Eugene and Ted gave an impressive performance Friday, and the Guffy Trio played to a packed house (thanks everyone for coming to the birthday!) ahead of the return night of Chill as Joyce and Rob once again descended on Peel Street. Sweet dreams are made of these.

Back in the Kong, and sites anew.

Good to be writing to all of you again after the recent break - Internet connectivity ended up being almost nonexistent for me when I was barreling across Siberia in the charity race the last few weeks, but I'm glad to be back in HK and returning to business as usual at Fresco.

Good to finally say I'm back on Peel Street after a long charity drive from Turkey to Mongolia! The fundraiser at Fresco was a real success before that with all your support, and I can see that things have been running well in the meantime... It's a packed night here for a Saturday, and the upcoming Pao / Lo show has already drawn quite a lot of booking interest!

Quick study jazz pianist Allen Youngblood is back in town with his Quartet this Friday, and Peter Scherr has written a special set to debut at Fresco. More in the fresh off the press News Letter...

Been a bit busy with the new double door (/curtain!) and the noise attenuating improvments at the bar, but the newsletter is out, and we're happy to welcome back Spanish saxophonist Miguel Fernandez with keyboard heavyweight Ted Lo on Friday, March 13th, and Eugene Pao with his smoking fast jazz guitar on Saturday, March 14th.

Just a quick info note on some tech updates at Fresco. The February calendar is online for V-Month* including the "Music for Lovers" night and Eugene Pao's Friday the 13th concert. We also had some luck last night on open mic night with the new video streaming setup, with a reasonable audio recording captured on our Gentoo box. Feel free to write in to the info account on our newsletter if you would like to take part in the prerelease alpha and beta trials before the expected public beta at the end of the month.
