And on rode the six hundred.
A few of you aptly pointed out the Dune references in last week's newsletter; it seems the trivia buffs out there just couldn't resist! You were absolutely right, I have been reading a lot of Frank Herbert lately, so I suppose it might have snuck its way into the occasional newsletter verse written from the Fresco backroom. With that in mind, I propose something new, in the nature of a little friendly contest.
The first three people to write back with the correct answer to these questions will receive either a free beer, a glass of wine, or the mixed drink of your choice from our general bar selection, compliments of me:
- Who were the six hundred (hint: two words, not dark)?
- The colossus statue (wonder) was at which ancient city?
Good luck!
The Mia Samira Jazz trio went off with a bang last Saturday, and thank you all for showing up and hearing her dulcet tones carry you away into the night. Chinda was equally happy after hosting the Chill Out at Fresco Sunday night, with 11 musicians improvising their unorthodox but highly interesting music sessions. Not to mention what a stir Wolfling caused on Friday with his mandolin - Thank you guys!
