Fresco News
Something bold.. and something blue?

The Rising Sun set over Fresco last week, and we'd like to thank our Japanese Nights performers Chinda and Haruta as well as all of you for making last weekend a success; we've managed to talk both of them into coming back to host next week's Chill Night next Sunday (Mar 23)!

Joyce, Rob and I would like to cordially invite you to our second Wine and Cheese tasting here at the music lounge this Thursday. After you demonstrated your support last month at our first Wine and Cheese tasting, we put together a whole new selection of vino for you to delight your palate and enrich your enological variety. So come by starting at 8PM this Thursday (Mar 13) and have a taste with the accompaniment of Guy LeClaire playing jazz standards all night long; see information on our selections and advertisement below.

Here's the upcoming week's schedule (Mar 10 - Mar 16):
  • Monday: Already passed into the bygone era of the timestream but the secret was shared, and it was good fun for everyone
  • Tuesday: Fresco's jam night rages on with eclectic fervor; musicians, take a free shot for the trouble, and the rest of you, sharpen up your heckling (10PM)
  • Wednesday: Guy Le Claire continues his Wednesday night residency with his smoking guitar and the help of A Hong on bass and Linus Why on drums; pink flamed psychedelic flavored image for your perusal below (9PM)
  • Thursday: Fresco's new monthly wine & cheese tasting with an all new selection of wines and their matching accoutrement; LeClaire will carry on the Jazz standards all the while, wine list is below (8PM wine tasting, Jazz at 9:30PM)
  • Friday: House favorite Bone Table muddies up their disembodied ephemeral selves in their self-originated music of the rocking country with their non-ambiguous Bahinean twist (or in their words, where soulful country meets dirty blues with a uniquely Hong Kong twist) (9:30PM)
  • Saturday: Robbin Harris drums for his last time at Fresco in his farewell performance in Hong Kong, with the other Guy on Guitar and A Hang on Bass for their blend of Groove, Funk, and Jazz; see the psychedelic flyer below (9:30PM)
  • Sunday: Chill Out at Fresco continues with special guest host Roland Salcedo on Piano; the Lounge continues to show its appreciation for the hard working professional musicians of Hong Kong with Manager's Discount on all of their drinks while they unwind with spontaneous original jams heard only at the moment of their creation, and never again (8PM)

For the Thursday night wine tasting, we will be featuring the following selection (along with a recommended cheese):
  • Kiona Chenin Blanc Washington 2006 with camembert
  • Couly-Dutheil "Melodia" Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2006 (Touraine) with gruyere
  • Paul Mas "Cha Cha Cha" Chardonnay 2006 with camembert
  • Domaine du Terme Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2004 with brie
  • Paul Mas "Que Sera Sirah Syrah" Shiraz 2006 with edam
  • Château de Plassan "Premières Côtes de Bordeaux" 2003 with edam
  • Guy Pinard and Fils Pineau des Charentes Blanc (Cognac based) with roquefort
