The weekend update, 28.57% early!

Glass is half-full thoughts aside, the bank holiday and a busy jam night interfered with the production schedule this week. But on the plus side, we have a lot of Latin to discuss this week (but strictly ipso facto, or perhaps not...) just ahead of a scantily clad costumed Halloween craziness (Oct 28 - Nov 1):

Fending off the groom is busy work in the morning of a Chinese wedding!

Was out and about off the beaten path in mainland yesterday, so the newsletter is running today, and I'm going to snap right to it (trivia hold rules apply - the contest is extended one more week and reopened for new potential winners).

Given the way Monday has mooned (philosophically lunar, of course!), here's this week in a nutshell (Sep 21 - Sep 27):

When a computer gives up, it seems to go "pop".

We know the summer heat has been bad. Our office computer agrees. After a few years of serving music up to the bar, it decided that it was just too hot and decided to check out. Someone has heard your gripes.

But the drinks are still cold, and the bands all cool - and this week keeps that going strong while I go try to find a new power supply (Sep 14 - Sep 20):

Video game redux hardly requires regular vision!

A few drinks in last Thursday and I found myself unknowingly dueling with Jesrael at a band break - I will learn to walk much more carefully before considering an attempt again! One moment there was a full accompaniment to a few old songs rattling off his fast handwork, and the next he managed to toss the Nokia ringtone on the fly into a jazz mix. Incredible!

Two to the fifth, come and gone.

Some weekends are the sort that pass by slowly (be they rare in Hong Kong), but this one certainly wasn't! Eugene and Ted gave an impressive performance Friday, and the Guffy Trio played to a packed house (thanks everyone for coming to the birthday!) ahead of the return night of Chill as Joyce and Rob once again descended on Peel Street. Sweet dreams are made of these.

Back in the Kong, and sites anew.

Good to be writing to all of you again after the recent break - Internet connectivity ended up being almost nonexistent for me when I was barreling across Siberia in the charity race the last few weeks, but I'm glad to be back in HK and returning to business as usual at Fresco.
