Gi Gi, Soul, and Newsletter Woes
Gi Gi is in town from Canada doing her thing this Friday, which involves soulful jazz with Charisma:
and the Soul Crusaders are going on a double header, this time with some sax.
Catch the
newsletter for some more!
Bit of a sad week on the newsletter front, vampant miscreants that want to sell
you all kinds of junk that you don't need decided to misbehave with the mailing list
for their own nefarious ends; the net net is that the newsletter still went
out this week, but I'm processing subscription and unsubscription requests
manually; please email us at
in the meantime, and sorry about the trouble.
Youngblood, Scherr, and some News
Quick study jazz pianist Allen Youngblood is back in town with his Quartet this Friday,
and Peter Scherr has written a special set to debut at Fresco. More in
the fresh off the press News Letter...
Show and a Newsletter
Been a bit busy with the new double door (/curtain!) and the noise attenuating
improvments at the bar, but the newsletter is out, and we're happy to welcome
back Spanish saxophonist Miguel Fernandez with keyboard heavyweight
Ted Lo on Friday, March 13th, and Eugene Pao with his smoking fast jazz guitar
on Saturday, March 14th.
Cheers!
New Calendar, Fresco Tech
Greetings!
Just a quick info note on some tech updates at Fresco. The February calendar
is online for V-Month* including the "Music for Lovers" night and Eugene Pao's
Friday the 13th concert. We also had some luck last night on open mic night
with the new video streaming setup, with a reasonable audio recording captured
on our Gentoo box. Feel free to write in to the info account on
our newsletter if you would like to take part in the
prerelease alpha and beta trials before the expected public beta at the end
of the month.
Please note that streaming video and audio during the test has some non-trivial
technical requirements** for satisfying playback capability.
* (congratulations to the HK contingent running the Vagina
Monologues and V-Month events!)
** A broadband connection with an XP class computer and software able to
decode a streaming WMV file (such as Windows Media Player(tm) or VLC) and
an aggregate network delay of less than 400ms to a server hosted in California.
